Katrina and Nathan currently live in Pittsburgh, PA, but are planning a wedding back home in St. Louis at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten this summer. They reached out to me last fall about their wedding and, as luck would have it, I happened to be planning a trip to their current state that fall and we were able to do an engagement session!
I love planning out-of-state shoots. The chance to visit another city and photograph in a new location is such a fun challenge and fulfills my wander-loving soul.
A Pinterest search led me to a beautiful little gem just outside the city called Hartwood Acres. This old mansion, turned public park, is built right on top of a hill and is absolutely STUNNING! If this location was in St. Louis, I would be there every week because there is so much variety. We were able to capture photos that looked like both spring AND fall (it was early October) due to the beautiful little garden that was still full of wildflowers! Then we walked around the mansion where Katrina and Nathan changed outfits for the fall trees out front.
We wanted to do a tour of the inside of the Mansion, but alas, due to the virus, tours were temporarily closed. Just another excuse to visit Pennsylvania again someday!!
